From “what should I play?” to playing, in three taps
No sign-up, no launcher, no hunting for a compatible emulator. Classic Retro Game is built around the one thing you came for.
Pick a console
Browse thousands of games across 11 consoles — NES, GBA, GBC, SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, NDS, PC Engine, WonderSwan Color, Arcade and PlayStation — filtered by its own accent color.
Tap to download
One tap downloads the game. The first time you play a console, its emulator core downloads too — after that, every game on that console plays offline.
Press start
Turn your phone sideways and play with an on-screen gamepad shaped for that exact console. Save your progress any time from the pause menu.
One app for every console you grew up with
Classic Retro Game does one job — playing classic games on your phone — across eleven systems, with care put into each one.
Every console, its own identity
Classic Retro Game isn't a single-console app wearing a different label — it's eleven, built as one.
11 consoles, one app
NES, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, SNES, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, PC Engine, WonderSwan Color, Arcade (MAME) and PlayStation — no separate app per console.
A color for every console
Each console has its own accent color that follows it everywhere — filter chips, game cards, the active tab. You always know where you are.
Console-accurate controls
The on-screen gamepad matches real hardware: NES gets D-pad/A/B, N64 gets the full C-button and analog layout, PlayStation gets the X/○/□/△ diamond.
Built-in emulator, nothing else to install
Classic Retro Game runs its own emulator inside the app. You never need to find, install or configure a separate emulator for any of the 11 consoles.
A catalog built to browse
Thousands of games is a lot to get lost in — so finding one is fast.
A catalog in the thousands
A clean cover-art grid for every console, ready the moment you open the app.
Instant search
Search across the whole catalog or inside one console. Results narrow as you type.
Sort it your way
A to Z, Z to A, or Most Liked — in the catalog and in your own downloaded library.
See before you play
Every game page shows its cover, console, file size and like count before you commit to a download.
Downloads that stay out of your way
A real download manager, not a spinner and a prayer.
One-tap downloads
Tap Play or Download and the file starts moving. Game sizes range from a few kilobytes (NES) up to full PlayStation discs — Classic Retro Game shows you the real size before you start.
Pause, resume, cancel, retry
Every download in the queue can be paused and picked back up, cancelled outright, or retried after a drop without starting over.
Storage you can see
The Downloads screen shows exactly what each game uses, deletes one at a time, or clears everything in one tap.
Favorites
Tap the heart on any game to save it to Favorites, so your shortlist survives a long scroll through the catalog.
Never lose your progress
Life interrupts. Your run shouldn't have to start over.
Save states
Save and load a full snapshot of any game from the in-game menu — on every one of the 11 consoles, not just a few.
Export and import saves
Pull a save file out to back it up, or bring one in — the same menu handles both.
Pick up where you left off
Recently played games surface on Home, so getting back into something is never more than a tap away.
Built for the phone you have
Full-screen landscape play, a gamepad you can resize and dim to taste, and controls sized for real thumbs.
A shelf, not a spreadsheet
Real cover art, a console filter for every one of the 11 systems, and a game page that tells you the size and likes before you tap download. Search narrows the grid as you type.
- Thousands of games, organized by console and by era
- Search across the whole catalog, or inside one console
- Sort A–Z, Z–A, or by Most Liked
- Favorite any game for quick access later
A real download manager
Every download shows live progress and can be paused, resumed, cancelled or retried — whether it's a 13 KB NES cartridge or a full-size PlayStation disc.
- Pause and resume any download, any time
- One-tap retry if a connection drops
- A Downloads screen that shows exactly what's using space
- Clear everything in one tap without touching your settings
Controls that match the console
Landscape, full screen, and a gamepad shaped for whatever you're playing — not one generic layout stretched across every system. Save your spot any time from the pause menu.
- A different on-screen gamepad per console, not a generic one
- Resize and dim the gamepad to taste
- Save state, load state, export and import saves
- Quit with a confirmation — no accidental lost progress
No account, ever. Here's how it actually works.
Classic Retro Game has no sign-up and no login screen, full stop. It does show ads to stay free, and it does send usage and crash data to help fix problems — we'd rather say that plainly than bury it.

Questions, answered
Do I need an internet connection to play?
You need a connection to browse the catalog, see cover art, and download a game and its console's emulator core the first time. Once a game and its core are on your phone, that game plays with the network off.
Are the games included in the app?
No. Classic Retro Game includes the catalog listing and the emulator. A game file only exists on your phone once you choose to play or download it, which fetches it from a third-party game server.
Is it legal to play these games?
An emulator is legal software, but games are protected by copyright. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use any game you download or play, which depends on where you live and what you own.
Read our Terms of Use for the details, and please only use Classic Retro Game with games you are allowed to play.
Does it cost anything? Are there ads?
Classic Retro Game is free and ad-supported, with no subscription and no account to create. There's an ad before a download or a play session starts, and occasional ads on the Home and Library screens — but never one while you're actually playing a game. See the Privacy Policy for exactly which ad formats are used and what data they involve.
Where are my games and saves stored?
In Classic Retro Game Emulator's own private storage on your phone. Nothing is uploaded and there is no cloud copy. Clearing your downloads keeps your settings; uninstalling the app removes everything.
Which consoles are supported?
NES / Famicom, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, Super Nintendo, Sega Mega Drive, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, PC Engine, WonderSwan Color, Arcade / MAME, PlayStation. Eleven consoles, every one built into the same app.
Which phones does it run on?
Android 7.0 and newer. Heavier consoles — N64, PlayStation, Arcade — ask more of your phone than NES or Game Boy; a modern mid-range device handles all eleven comfortably.
Which languages are supported?
English only, for now.
